Rik: For twenty years my job was reading people, not code. I'd sit across from an engineer and within ten minutes know whether they could build what a founder needed. I was never the one building it.

Rik: That changed this year, mostly because Bob decided it was worth his time to teach me. Not as a courtesy, as a real bet that someone who's spent two decades on the people side of building companies could get genuinely useful with the tools now available.

Rik: This website is the proof. I built it directly with Claude Code, no dev team, no handoff, just me describing what I wanted and iterating until it was right.

Rik: I'm recording this because I think the honest version of "learning to build" is more useful to people than the polished one. The written version of this conversation is linked below if you'd rather read it.
